The mission of the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) is to ensure equal access in all aspects of employment, education, and participation within the University.
OIE works with academic affairs offices across the university to ensure that academic hiring practices conform with our federal and state obligations, to promote best practices, and to support an equitable work environment.
The campus academic hiring guides provide campus-specific instructions for conducting fair and equitable searches, maintaining proper documentation, and the steps necessary to obtain approvals from OIE through this process.
