Discrimination and harassment training

Every single member of the Indiana University community shares in the responsibility to create and foster an open environment where everyone feels welcome and can learn and work.

Discrimination and harassment on the basis of age, color, disability, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status is not tolerated at IU.

Our office provides training programs to the university community to ensure all members understand their legal responsibilities and can do their part to keep IU free of discrimination and harassment.

Title IX training

The office provides instruction for departments on a variety of topics related to Title IX and Student Welfare. Please visit Stop Sexual Violence to find out more and request a training session.

If you are a Responsible Employee at Indiana University, (i.e., someone who is required to report sexual misconduct and harassment incidents to the Title IX coordinator), you are required to take an online training module each year.

The training includes a series of videos about sexual misconduct, Title IX, and your duties under the law. After you watch each video, you will be prompted to answer a few questions about the material you just viewed. When you have completed the module, you will receive a digital certificate certifying that you have fulfilled the requirement.

Legal Compliance Series

If you have a supervisory role on the IU Bloomington campus, you are encouraged to complete the Legal Compliance Series for Supervisors.

This series covers the laws enacted to protect employees on both the state and federal level. Participants learn how to ensure their employees are getting the protections they are entitled to and how to avoid situations that lead to discrimination and harassment.
